Meet Harnaam Kaur- a 26-year-old former teaching assistant from Slough in Berkshire, body confidence campaigner… and world first full-bearded Guinness record holder-LADY!
Harnaam, or so-called ‘bearded lady’, first noticed her hair sprouting on her face, back, chest and arms as early as 11 years of age, due to her condition- polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
The syndrome is a common condition that affects the reproductive organs and is a leading cause of infertility in women due to high levels of male hormones in the body.
Having been battling with the hair even since, she tried everything- from razors to full face threading. Harnaam experienced a horrific taunts and body-shame campaigns at the hands of bullies both at school and working places that led her feeling depressed and often suicidal.
Until one day, when she decided to let her beard grow… Here is Harnaam’s story in her own words.
Face-shaving is actually becoming the latest fashion among ladies around the world. Here is one example from Huda Beauty -fashion blogger.
